Yondr signs the EU Climate Neutral Data Center Pact

Yondr joins over 100 data center operators and trade associations committed to climate neutral data centers by 2030

As part of its efforts towards building a sustainable future, Yondr has become a signatory to the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact (CNDCP), a pledge supported by the European Commission to make data centers and cloud infrastructure climate neutral by 2030. CNDCP was created to help achieve the goal of making the European Union climate neutral by 2050.

The CNDCP aims to achieve carbon neutrality with clear metrics between 2025 and 2030 by measuring five key areas: energy efficiency, clean energy, water conservation, circular economy and circular energy systems.

As a signatory, Yondr will be audited on its performance and activities to reduce waste, energy and water use. We will also need to ensure that we are maximising opportunities for green electricity supply and waste heat reuse. Yondr will have the opportunity to contribute to the wider goals of the scheme through collaborating with members of working groups on industry needs such as defining a new metric for energy efficiency, improving the circular economy, and making it easier to achieve waste heat reuse.

Béla Waldhauser, Board Member of the CNDCP said, “The board welcomes Yondr as a signatory of the CNDCP, further expanding our community. The Pact now represents over 75% of the market for off-premises data centers in Europe. This shows the importance of our initiative for the EU, our industry and the planet. We are looking forward to working together with Yondr on meeting our climate neutral goals by 2030.”

Ross McConnell, VP Energy and Sustainability at Yondr commented, “Joining CNDCP is more than a commitment, it’s a reflection of our core values. We’re excited to shape what’s possible for a sustainable tomorrow, minimising our carbon footprint, driving positive change within our industry and contributing to a world where progress and planet thrive together.”
